Re: This month's stocks du jour for adding to

There are some of my holdings that are for generating a steady flow of income as the prime target and capital growth a secondary consideration. No surprise that these stocks are required to raise revenues 7.00 % or more .. usually 8 % to 11 %.

I try to keep the risk low . Risk is kept a keen focus on it and never taking safety for granted--knowing the consequences for lax attention.

#################################################

So I usually do not post these eclectic portfolio stocks since I do not know the reader's maturity and experience . Nor if they really are a long term investor or just a day trader.

Short history : Long ago I was asked to help out...this was in 1963.
They wanted me to tell them what I was buying . We were at Fidelity watching the old fashion ticker tape . Without thinking, I said I had bought some ocean shipping co. ( I do not remember the shipping co.'s name.) I finished with, "Look it up and see if you want it."

Time passed and I had forgotten about the conversation. He came in and when he saw me he rushed over and said " I took my insurance money and bought that shipping co. "
"how did that work out for you?" I asked surprised with some worry.

"Well I bought 8,500 shares at $36 and today I sold it for $44.50 . Not bad for three weeks."

I was shocked. I was doing my usual plan of modest buys with more modest purchases over time. I had bought 400 and would have never recommended to a novice to risk that much money on a ocean shipping co notorious for being risky. Here I was keeping my purchases small and he put down way too much money on a stock he had never heard.
I was glad he did well. He was lucky that a merger was being offered.

The next thing he said, "Tell me another one to buy." I realized he had never done any research on his own. Every time he came around he asked the same thing. I showed him the monthly picks at Fidelity . Someone showed him about Margin Account and option buying and selling.

I do not know how well he did but he stopped coming around so I expected that the money had diminished. It was another lesson at the School of Hard Knocks. These lessons are often better than any other schools since they can be painful and never forgotten.

Now the investors here on the board are seasoned and savvy and not going to do anything but caution and research before spending their hard earned cash... and even harder to save in the first place.

I would not be surprised if someone would not choose my choices. What works for me might not be their cup of tea.
These have been sold off... and might take a while to come back. But to buy low is by its nature to have some risk attached.
Caveat Emptier.

Here is a potpourri for variety. some are REITS but not all.

ABR.......CEQP.......TFC.....RF.....AGNC....CMCSA....QCOM....BX...DIS...TXN...HON.

Months ago I mentioned I was buying VICI in the low to mid $20's. ... today it is trading back and forth $30 .
Las Vegas is doing very well lately.
The properties VICI bought should be done with the renewals, the Price Target is in the mid $40's.
Note the number of restaurants and bars they own. Be sure to read their quarterly reports.
I think this is also a REIT.

Long term investing with 2025 horizon or longer.

Please note that there are no guarantees attached to this list.
