"How many long-term shareholders agree with x and hope the stock price dramatically drops lower?" Ans: All of the rational onesThere
is an obvious bias in the question with X not expressing eagerness for a
price collapse but one might note investors are often nearly as bereft
of commonsense as lovers. Anyone in his right mind would want to buy a desired investment as cheap as possible. Granted
a drastic collapse in price can signal terrible trouble but one always
needs to consider misfortune as well as corrupt and/or incompetent
management. Price is a reliable guide only to the passions of the moment. Good investors should be cold-blooded, lousy lovers. JMO. Best, Terry |
