I apologize for missing this.
Iíve followed Alan for decades now. He was always thorough and extremely generous with sharing his research. I never met him in person but we talked a number of times and he was always quick to answer my innumerable questions regardless of how stupid they were. And, believe me, Iím the Master Shaolin Priest of asking STUPID questions. He was patient and understanding with his explanations.
You only had to talk with him once to realize how uniquely considerate he was.
Alan made the world a better place just by sharing his fascination for science with so many others.
Not only did he take time to answer my countless questions about biotech but he also tolerated my jackassed sense of humor.
I consider myself blessed to have known him just a little. He is greatly missed.
