Interesting Perspective from Barron's
So, how low can we go? I don't have the answer to that question, but I would encourage the reading of an 8/16/19 article in Barron's called, "Wall Street Has Abandoned Oil and Gas Stocks. You Shouldn't." The premise is that energy stocks are out-of-favor, but therein lies opportunity for those with a longer-term perspective. The article notes that the weighting of energy in the S&P 500 index is now below 5%, the lowest it has been in 40 years. An interesting read---likely won't make you feel much better about Gran Tierra, but will give you an appreciation for the downdraft in the sector (and perhaps this has much to do with the steep decline holders of GTE are now enduring).
