Actually as an exploration geologist for over 35 years I have an interest in plays all over. There are several potential plays offshore guinea:
1. salt diapirs, the regional gravity-magnatic data suggests this trend may extend into the far NW edge of Guinea waters.
2. The massive Turonian sands as drilled in the Buttes well should be chased across the northern half of the offshore area and see if they are in trap geometry.
3. The Tilted fault-block trend may contain significant reservoir intervals.
4. The carbonate plays, while higher risk, have never been explored for nor drilled. They may have sands draped across the t op of the carbonate similar to the SNE 1 play. The resources in these carbonates could be quite large.
Moist of these opportunities are in much shallower water as compared to Fatala #1, general less than 1000 meters in depth.
Do you have any additional plays in mind? Granted these do nothing for HDYN but it will be interesting to see if Total or some other company can develop prospects and drill one or more these plays.
