"Ernie...thought I’d post this one here, your thoughts appreciated as always."
Cel-Sci is a heaping load of crap and I can't think of a worse place to do biotech research than Seeking Alpha.
"Thus, it is conceivable that an IDMC could conclude "prematurely" that the trial is futile and end the trial. However, with the understanding of the "delayed clinical effect", the IDMC allows the trial to continue. The patients are continued to be followed beyond the initial study time for an additional one to two years. Then, the gap between the deaths occurring between the treated and the standard of care group widens significantly in favor of the treated group."
The IDMC for this trial has already recommended that the trial should be terminated and alternatively not recruit any new patients. What more does anyone need to form an opinion? Now that all patients are treatment complete and the continuation of the trial has no treatment implications, the touts are claiming that current IDMC recommendations to complete the trial are meaningful. Pure tripe.
