I frequently get a message
from SA that I have reached
my limit for reading articles
and requires that I pay $200+
for a "premium" subscription to
read the article in full.

I think I have read only a few
articles in full for the month
and limited to reading posted comments
to only a few times, if that much.

You say the articles are 98% "crap."
What I used to find useful were posted comments
presenting alternative
points of view, backed up with numbers
and history.
