>>thebigass: I didn't say all were diesel generated. Many are.<<

But you did say "most." And you are still saying many. What is your "many"? 0.0001%?

You are basically doing what you nearly always do. Make up or lie about your "facts," to make your dumb arguments sound better.

People don't use diesel generators to generate electricity, except for emergency backup during power failures. It's not even remotely cost competative to getting getting electricity off of the grid. And people who provide EV charging stations do it to make a reasonable profit (just like the gas station makes), not to throw money out the window for diesel fuel (not to mention the cost of the diesel generating equipment).

If you look at a typical Tesla "on the road" charging installation, with say 15 charging stations, you will notice how the number of cars actually charging at one time varies like mad, from all in use on fairly rare occasions, to only 1 or 0 people charging. Being on the grid takes care of that instantly -- a business can turn off virtually everything in that business at 5PM, when the business closes, and being able to accommodate that variation in load costs them nothing, when they are attached to the grid. Having that kind of variation in a diesel powered charging installation would be a killer, because diesel engine efficiency drops off like hell when you are running at any load other then the a specific load that a given installation was designed for.

Can you tell me one specific charging installation that you say is powered by diesel? I will try to check it out.

>>thebigass: You say Amps is the wrong word and then you go on to explain, using AMPS!<<

No I didn't. I used AMPS in a context of a given voltage (a high voltage line), and did so only to give a number (2/3 of an AMP) which relates to your "Need a lot of amps, though" claim.
