While cold weather that you deal with in Canada certainly reduces range, battery technology is at the point where 500+ mile range is possible. The average range people drive daily in the summer is 30.6 miles. 500+ is actually overkill no matter where you live.
Tesla featured their new 4680 cells last year which will propel their plaid+ 520 miles. Lucid is debuting a similar range.
In comparison, my first Tesla had the longest range of any BEV and that was 265 miles. That gets me to anywhere in SoCal. I only charge away from home on long distance trips and there's more Supercharger locations than you can shake a stick at.
