This is what I mean though about the kinds of rhetoric you see from defeated people. It becomes more self-affirming and the data better cherry picked
to try to defend a desired conclusion instead of analyzing a situation
and trying to improve it. Eventually the wrong idea dies out and nothing is accomplished with this but it can drag on for a while.
