Some of these recent pathogens are acting as if they have evolved in response to selection pressure they have never seen. That is, in this case, airport thermal screening although generally latency period would be beneficial to spread.
However, things like HIV have been resistant to vaccine development and others of African origin get worse with related antibodies. Animal exposure - primates largely in Africa, various for these Asian respiratory things and food animals for flu- is a common theme. Viruses tend to exploit quirks of specific hosts and tissues - so on the one hand hard to predict but on the other maybe easy to defeat. Polymerase inhibitors could be more indpendent of exposed antigens vs vaccines but still able to mutate sometimes with drug selection pressure.

The fatality rate for this thing is low and goes along with liberal goals
anyway getting rid of the old people. However, if it starts circulating among immunocopromised with multiple organism exposures hard to know what will happen.
