Re: So what are you guys going to do about NEWT?
Sure, anyone who is thinking of NEWT as just an income machine among other income machines in their portfolio, whether a fund manager or retail is investor, will likely want to to sell. They want a certain amount of income from their investment, and now they're not going to get it. There might be some capital appreciation over time, and eventually, there might be even more in income in absolute terms than there was before, but it'll take a while.
My attitude is completely different. NEWT has been a unique BDC -- cross-selling business services, etc., it was not like any other BDC. It was built in large part by Barry Sloan, as I understand it -- a talented guy who now sees another way forward. Management seems to care about shareholders and to be very competent. My plan is to hold, because I think it's a great thing to have talented management with vision, purpose, and knowledge working for me. I can go along with this change and see what happens. Of course, my position is not enormous, and I'm not dependent on the income. But I can wait and see what happens, and, obviously, I think it's going to be good.
