Re: SMLP going to zero???? An opinion from SA's Long Player

The writer is oblivious to the facts: the GP sold a major project under development to SMLP, thus shifting all the projects RISK to SMLP. MLPs are only supposed to take drop downs of fully operational projects. It's the GP who is supposed to to take development risk. The GP sold their IDR's to SMLP based on the payout BEFORE it was immediately cut in half. SMLP was saddled by the GP with onerous debt due to the drop-down which is NOT at all a sure winner. SMLP has a lot of legacy assets with poor current and future prospects. Analysts have said SMLP will probably have to cut their payout again or eliminate it. Want more? Stay away.
