Re: Just getting started in REITs or Trying to find new ideas in REITs to invest in?
The recent report out on how many hours EACH day is spent text messaging on phones and also playing games is a huge waste of time that could be spent on more productive projects.
A lot less time could easily self educate and attain the skillset to select undervalued stocks and follow them. The same technology can send data updates and news releases from corporations via email which get to you as quickly as professional traders get them.
So.... I agree that some mutual funds are low cost with fair track records... but one still has to make the effort and spend the time to find them.
2008-09 also showed that index and managed funds performed poorly. The so called professionals did not have a clue and were right there with the lemmings jumping off the cliff. So much for professional expertise. You ended up paying fees for someone who lost your money. Ouch !
