Re: building assetsI was sort of in the same boat, flipping real estate in Silicon Valley (during 1990) at the same time building my stock portfolio. At the time of the 2008-2009 real estate crash pick up a beautiful property in S. Lake Tahoe NV. I live their 6 months out of the year (no State Income tax) and continue to build my stock portfolio. The Duplex I own in Tahoe I have remodeled and now am converting to two Townhouses. I lucked out since 1/4 miles away on the Lake is a condo development w/ units selling $2-$13 million ! My units once converted are now worth $1 million each (or more). No debt paid all cash and still own my Silicon Valley home where I am constructing an ADU. The key is do what interests you is exciting and challenging. You also will be lucky too on many of your investments. Like today got a buy out on RFP +60% which I bought late last year when lumber prices hit the roof. --------------------------------------- I believe BGS has a lot of really good assets and love that 7% dividend. Many times 'old lady' stocks are good especially if they have good core assets and are well managed. |
