Crescent ValleyCrescent Valley, Nevada Well CVP-001 (67-3) was completed on March 27th to a depth of 2,746 feet. The well exhibited modest permeability making the well suitable for duty as an injection well. Not exactly scintillating news. From the website discussing Crescent Valley: A mineral exploration hole drilled in the mid-l990s near the Crescent Valley fault encountered geothermal fluid under pressure and the driller lost control the well. An oil field service company had to be contracted to regain control and abandon the well. This well demonstrates that prospective permeability... An old geothermal blowout could indicate that there might not be lack of permeability [water flow] throughout the prospect. Best, Terry |
