I still have a copy of a 1967 version of Chapmans. Its the one I used to study for my License amongst all the CG Manuals had to memorize. The test was 7 parts at that time, and you had to get a 90% on P1 to take the rest of the test. Something like 70% fail the entire 1st test. All written. Very different today. Back then, no GPS, Elect. Charting, etc. everything was manual, and I had to chart course from Montauk Pt. to Stuart FL by hand and time/speed intervals, and stops inland, etc. luckily for me I had already made that trip 3x. Electronics didn't exist in 1968, other than early Consumer Radar and the beginning of VHF.
