Re: Why I just UNSUBSCRIBED from Seeking Alpha newsletter>>Interesting. AAPL was at about 27 cents, split-adjusted at the time. I had 1000 shares then. I still have the bulk of them, after they split 2:1, 7:1 and 4:1, a total of 56:1 splits. I wish he was here to do that math.<< You were smart. I still have my original basket, but Cramer is/was right, AAPL is for holding, not for trading. Mostly I held, but sometimes I sold some at the wrong time and sometimes I bought some at the wrong time. I do believe I bought at optimal times when AAPL revisited $131.50 in June and again when it revisited the $140s. And we probably should be thankful tvlkto isn't here to compute the SELL value of the OLDER shares we still hold. He would point out that the current admin has suctioned most of the selling value out of AAPL. How much product could we have bought if we'd sold our shares two (2) years ago versus how much could we buy if we sold our shares today? Two years ago we could vacation at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island and not feel a pinch. Today we might pay the bill by washing the hotel's windows. And what would the transportation cost to get there? Changing horses in midstream . . . do you remember in which year Steve Jobs warned after the close and AAPL then plunged faster than Niagara Falls? That was one scary log flume ride!! I can't find my AAPL Historical Prices list, but I remember the volume was astronomical. |
