Re: Payroll going to explodehi okie flats... just read what you wrote,,,,,, $2500 for a 2 bedroom apartment that equates to 125 hrs at $20 per hour.... or 3.125 paydays,,,,, based on a 40 hr 4 week month. a one bedroom at $1800 is 2.25 paydays,,,, again based on a 40 hr work week 4 weeks in a month.... turn over at $16 per/hr I would say so,,,, entry level positions as soon as you can you get the $20 job... but these figures represent gross earnings,,,you have deductions to deal with,,, how do you pay for insurance,,, health and vechile… oh yeah,, how do you figure in a car payment , furniture payment and food,???? what we need to be mindfull of,, is if you don't pay someone enough to make a living then they are forced to steal. now maybe they will have room mate and spilt expenses and the correct monthly work week is 4.3 weeks per month 52 divided by 12 most of the gas stations jobs are second incomers,,part timers whose $16 or $20 isn't enough, and kids (others) starting out. every year there is a new crop of employess,,, the fast food industry depends on this supply of junior and seniors looking for a first time job...the have to start somewhere. I am almost 70 ,, and remember all the tellers at the bank on Friday at 3 pm..... and the long lines of people waiting to cash there checks,,, no atm's back then,, no direct deposit, no pay cards where money is deposited and you just use the card to make purchases... and now the money is there on thrusdays…. employers wanting a good dependable steady worker needs to be paid a wage on which they can survive..... look that employee needs x amount of dollars , they will get it one by working honestly at one or more jobs. or they will steal when ever they can to survive.... I have heard employers complain about employee thief, and pilferage, goods walking out the back door... and they pay the minimum wage, and offer few if any benefits. you get what you pay for...… in more ways than one. $20 per hour,,, a bargain... a lot of those part time positions were eliminated and converted to full time positions.... when you do go into your bank, as I do,, no atm, all most no drive up... I go in,,, write a check for cash, and see the bank teller that I know , and who knows me,, by first name,,, there is usually never a line,, maybe one person in front of me... but I am from the old days. lol I used to remember see armored cars making deliveries of cash and change to grocery stores, and banks and others businesses.... when was the last time you actually have seen one of these making a delivery... ?? most transactions are done with a card,,, debit/credit,,, and I get annoyed when the person in front of me holds up the line at Walmart to write a check... lol I mean who writes a check at the check out these days? well someone just like me,,, holding on to what they used to do.... lol be well,,,, enjoy your life,,, if you are an employer, pay your folks a living wage.....keep them honest. |
