Re: GE announces 1050 MW order of wind energy from Pattern Energy//Norway???
Pattern Energy is US company with energy projects around world. They had IPO in 2013, tripled in size, then went private again in 2019. There have a complicated limited partnership structure owned by Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, private equity, and management. They might be for sale at the right price but I think that GE would have to overpay by quite a bit. GE is probably better off selling equipment to them - GE doesn't really operate in the space of project development, management and ownership.
<< The Pattern Energy Group Inc. operating assets and the Pattern Energy Group 2 LP development platform are now owned by Pattern Energy Group LP (“Pattern Energy”), a joint venture among the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments™), private equity funds managed by Riverstone Holdings LLC, and certain members of Pattern Energy management.>>
Of course Equinor is just the new name for Statoil, owned 67% by Norwegian Government with market cap of 80 Billion and diversifying into wind and solar space after being an offshore energy business of huge magnitude in North Sea.
