GE Renewable Energy has signed a deal to supply turbines to the 138MW Saros wind farm in Turkey, its first firm order for the new Cypress platform in the market.
The US manufacturer has inked the deal for 27 of the 5.XMW units with 158-metre rotors with developer Borusan EnBW Energji.
GE will produce two-piece blades for the project at an LM Wind Power manufacturing site in Bergama in Izmir, Turkey. Towers will also be produced locally.
A ten-year service agreement is included.
No delivery or commissioning schedule has been disclosed.
