Re: Poll Shows Trump Has Turned GOP Into The White Nationalist Party
I am old enough to remember the racism of the 1960's. I have posted before
that my father was a racist, and I have posted on my memories of my brother
and father arguing in the most unpleasant of terms when I was a little child.
Today's "White Supremacy" and "White Nationalism" (and White-whatever) are far
different from the racism of the 60's. White-thinking is more of a "mania"
or "mental dysfunction" today. Nothing like the 60's when racism was
promulgated by the thinking, educated men in that then racist and sexist
I don't think equating today's more mentally-unstable forms of racism with the
earlier forms (as a political stunt against Trump) is wise. Calling Trump and
his movement racist presents a much watered-down view of what racism actually
was, giving those too young to have lived through it a picture of a racism
far less crual than it was in reality. It makes the older forms of racism
appear far less toxic than they historically were.
Something like "racial mania" or "racial psychosis" I think would be far
more appropriate for today's idiot-class.
