Halloween sales are going to be down. How much I don't know, but significantly.
stock price has held up remarkably well - looks overvalued to me
if parents don't let their kids trick or treat
or people assume there won't be as many kids at the door
then sales will be lower than normal
already seeing half off deals at the store, so grocery chains are worried too
or will the "candy chute" save Halloween?
<< Halloween, like so many other events, will be altered by the novel coronavirus pandemic. In early September, Beattie, his wife and their 6-year-old daughter were discussing what their beloved holiday might look like and they came up with an idea. What if there was a way to hand out candy without getting closer than six feet to a single trick-or-treater? Beattie remembered he had a long tube, formerly an Amazon shipping container, in the basement. The next day, it took about 20 minutes to bring the idea to life: a candy chute. >>
kids stand at the bottom of the steps, 6 feet away, and he drops their candy into the chute - socially distanced trick or treat
good idea, but I doubt it will catch on
