Re: Tax cut works, automation increases employment, AI will boost human economic efficiency to a point when Universal Pay is inevitable
People have too high of expectations for ai but there are certainly things it can do. Look at medicine where costs seem out of control. Ai should be able to make diagnosing easier. You could do it now but ai isn't good at too general of questions.
So you have to be more specific like is it cancer of bone or not? Still this is how doctors work. They consider possibilities and do some tests to check. If ai can be set up to do this you could see a nurse who relies on ai for judgement.
That would make it cheaper but only after the systems are in place. Medicine is slow but this is an easier problem than something like cars because doctors often don't have alot of time. So you already have a rate of error.
Same thing with teaching. Suppose you're teaching math. First you present something then you see if the student understands. With large classes they only test at the end but an air could do this daily and keep trying until they get it.
Apparently no one has figured how yo do that yet, but ai is very new. Only the last few years has it become widespread. If you could get it to work it would solve the problem where costs of phones has plummeted but things like doctors had not.
As far as creating jobs this is a backwards question. If you cut costs enough then you could live on less money so you could survive off jobs that don't do much. Your biggest cost would be food and shelter.
Of course ai isn't everything, like look at rent. But tech could help there. If web video is high quality more people could work from home. So there shouldn't be a need to live where it's expensive or to own a car.
This also means you could be competing with overseas people but again it's those expenses like doctors and rent that puts Americans at too high a cost. That and all our debt. In order for this to work you can't have debt.
