excellent post. that being said, with production declining rapidly (just look at the guidance for 2h 2015 and 2016 the death spiral is alive and well according to investors.
my question is on swan hills. there was just a trade 2 months ago at 81k. so it's a real live trade. WHY did Penn West not execute this deal. at the same price this 8k swan hill basically would solve the majority of their debt problems (600mm).
clearly something is wrong - either penn west doesn't want to sell assets or something is wrong with their assets.
a 640mm (okay let's haircut it down to 600mm) would get debt down to very manageable levels. Yet CPG went elsewhere. you have an answer for that.
