Re: market is green and mean
My DRIP shares showed up in the TDA account today, transaction time listed is 10:15 am - but I only paid $8.58/shr, a low it only hit at yesterday's open - got some deal on those shares, up 11% on them already. Nice to see dollar cost averaging at work - got almost double the number of shares I usually get from the auto-reinvest plan TDA uses. OTOH, SFL is now my highest cost position by dollars invested, although it's only #8 on the list of total amount of cash invested, down -38% on total cost basis but +57% on cash cost basis, and that's really all that matters to me, that the position is worth way more than what I paid for it. I know some think "cash cost basis" is an accounting gimmick, but to me it's not - no money can go into or come out of the IRA, so building up it's value can only be done with trades and DRIPs.
