The long term result of this is that the U.S. will find itself and it's bases unwelcome in much of Europe. The Baltic states may want U.S. bases but the logistics without Germany and France are prohibitive. Even Sweden may be forced to rethink it's movement away from neutrality.
What is working against the U.S. plan is that it's reliable ally on the doorstep of Europe, the UK, is self destructing.
It is very difficult to believe that whatever governments emerge in France, Germany, Italy, and Western Europe will not decide that they have been exploited and put an end to it.
It seems a stretch to blame the U.S. for every conflict in the world, Whether caused by home grown stupidity or being put up to it, Greece and Turkiye are taking advantage of the distractions in Ukraine and western Europe and are at the point of an East vs, West war, which could break out at any time. Maybe Europe will end with a bang rather than a whimper after all.
