Re: wealthy eco-socialists can feel virtuous
The article cited by hydono is a fascinating article. I think "Russians" are very skilled at designing propaganda. It goes all the way back to the early Bolshevik period after the 1917
Revolution. I'm reading an interesting historical novel - The
Kommissariat of Enlightenment - about that period, concerning the
Ministry of Agitation and Enlightenment that Lenin set up in the
aftermath of the Revolution. It involved not only speeches, pamphlets,
newspapers and posters, but also theater plays and cinema - all designed to penetrate and change the way the mass of Russian peasants and others viewed the Bolshevik revolution. It also seems
ironic to me that the cited targets/mocks a recently "proposed"
German socio-political policy to tax meat, since the Germans too, during
the Nazi period, were masterful practitioners of "agitprop."
