I’ve never understood any discussion that the IP has value. If the drug works, the drug has value, protected by the IP patents. If the drug woes take work, the value of the IP for a drug that doesn’t work is what??
To me, the IP by definition cannot have stand-alone value. Almost perfectly link between the drugs and the IP. What am I missing?
I suppose the IP can have value if someone accidentally spills a vial of PV-10 on a rose plant and it flowers fuller and brighter than ever before. Then the holder of the IP may be able to extract some value from Miracle-gro. (That possibility is not part of my personal investment thesis).
Vorlon, here’s a chance at redemption. Explain to me without condescension how the IP can have value separate from the success of the underlying patented drugs and processes? I genuinely am open to understanding if I miss something.
