Re: WHERE’S THE MONEY?And my calculation was very conservative. That 2 million engagement rings is USA, I assume. So we can add more to that, although the 19% M might not apply worldwide, but some must be M. And people spend a budget, they don't look to save money. At least not in general. The people spending $1100 or $1500 on M rings, are doing that because that is the affordable/budget level for them. (The concept of saving money on an engagement ring to be worn forever, is nonsense. The folks that say they bought M to save money, were never really going to spend 4X or 5X more on D anyway, they would have got a smaller D of lower grade.) The point I am making in this discussion, is that your numbers (19% is over $2 billion in dollars) are good to consider.....some of the folks that have that to spend, maybe buy a $1500 M ring (maybe because they don't want "too big"), but they'd be so convinced about the value of M, they probably buy more M (earrings ?...necklace ?...bracelet ?) with at least part of the difference between $1500 and their budget of $6000 or $7500 or $3000+. So again, my calculation is conservative. It is difficult to imagine how C&C could be collecting less than my low end number of around $100 million per year, just in engagement rings. So......WHERE'S THE MONEY ???!!! So is that 19% number just not true (despite suzanne citing it) ? Or is C&C somehow getting only a tiny fraction of that 19% M fraction ? If so, how is that possible, with C&C being the leading M company ? <<<How inconceivable is it that it’s not been captured? They all should be hanging their heads. >>> They sure should. There is just no way to imagine C&C has a small share of the M market, even if just by accident they should have most. If they don't still have the lion's share (let's say 90% or at least 75%) of the M market, then C&C is failing miserably. How bad is the marketing if C&C is bleeding market share that badly in these initial years after the patent expired ? <<< educated investment professionals calling in on the call ..... didn’t catch it. >>> They were probably playing nice......meanwhile their colleagues are busy selling shares and/or going short. <<<We’re selling the WORLD’S MOST BRILLIANT JEWEL and awareness of that remains low. Who’s fault is that? Every day, these folks should say to themselves before they rush out the door at 5:00, what did I do today to raise awareness of C&CM? Did I convince anyone to choose C&CM as the best fine jewel.>>> Very well stated. And you are absolutely right. They should ask themselves that, as they pass again that big AWARENESS sign in the lobby. <<<It’s maddening to shareholders knowing that no one is ever held accountable>>> Yep. And that there isn't even anything to hang some hope on. |
