Re: mutualhelper a little helpyeah. wprt and clne are having another great day. except for tax, it does not matter what you paid for them. like rmbs, they are story stocks. natural gas is cheap in u s a. technology - fracking - horizontal drilling - has lead to huge supply in u s a of natural gas which can be obtained at reasonable cost. u s a has huge trade deficit. a lot of this is because of oil imports. we can use nat gas instead of oil for transportation. also, we can export nat gas - which helps our balance of trade. also, this is good for jobs. wprt has made deals to make engines that use nat gas. clne has made deals for stations which will sell nat gas to motor vehicles. in theory i am buy and hold. these are plays for big wins. unfortunately i read they were lousy, didn't make money, were pipe dreams. with 20-20 hindsight, i am screwed - as i sold $35 calls on wprt and $17.50 calls on most of my clne. perhaps sell some and let the rest run. you have profits on closed transactions. because of the way you think, get your capital out and let your profits from past transactions run - keep your winners - let them run - and sell your losers. don't trade. sell when not worth pps. but, here if story plays out, there is a lot of upside. if romney wins, he will not be anti energy. nat gas and fracking are reasonable environmental play - cleaner than coal and oil. |
