The Wolf and the Lamb

Some of the recent conversation here reminds me of a La Fontaine fable that I read as a kid. I don't mean to draw a parallel to the imbalance between the wolf and the lamb (and we are all lions-at-heart) but the maxim remains the same. When one side is set on a course-of-action that benefits him all reasoning is but  a preamble.

Here is the story. It is pretty short. I don't know if it is/was popular with kids in this country.
