"That Mantanmoreland mirrors this unusual stance online is odd, to say the least."
This is classic Begging the Question:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begging_the_question Not only is is not odd, it would be odd if NO ONE did. Nor is it unusual or odd to cite an author whose views you agree with. There's NOTHING odd about it. Zip.
The ENTIRE case that this user is Weiss hinges on this completely nonsensical conclusion that if someone cites an author's work, he is the author himself. If that were the case, practically everyone here could be accused of being Byrne. As someone who has been accused of being Weiss himself, I know how off base these accusations can be. (I'm not alone, any critic of Byrne eventually gets accused of being Weiss at some point)
It is a nice, classical case of wanting something to be true and looking for evidence to confirm the pre-conclusion rather than weighing eveidence to reach a conclusion. So from that standpoint, it would make an interesting article. But probably more suited to a psychology magazine. Actually, the entire demonizing antisocialmedia.net web site is entrenched in this logical fallacy.
