Its really not like the old days where there is often huge selling pressure on the day of the deletion. Most of the time the huge institutional holders have arranged huge cross trades which appear on Friday or afterhours Fri or pmkt Monday etc. which have no effect on the trading price you see. I mean you never know.. a stock could dip for a second, but oftentimes there is more selling pressure on some stocks during the three or four weeks in anticipation of the big day by retail sellers then there is on that day or after by institutional. And sometimes .. but certainly nowhere near all... you see huge spikes up on the Monday after deletion.
That is all imho and experience in watching the R2k index changes over the past five years... over five years ago things were different and it was easier to make money on the reconstitution.
