With Novadaq's ISRG 10 year contract up in a year or two, and Stryker holding the reigns to both the older (ISRG's) black and white view and the up to date colorized view, how much will they have to pay Stryker? With this technology in every ISRG machine and used 400k, 600k, 800k, ??? times a year they may be paying in discounted dollars more than the $701 million Stryker is buying NVDQ for. A fair price would be ~$30@ based on the DermACELL potential alone. Does ISRG have $2.5 billion in cash---you bet. And it is collecting ~0.3% per year interest. So what's to lose? This would be a slam dunk if I was on the ISRG board. If they really wanted to, even a stock/cash offer would be acceptable to the NVDQ holders. They might want a stake in the company that will eventually have two monopolies---robotic surgery and SPY technologies.
