Re: Serious question about the volume traded Friday
Selling pressure from Fridays rebalancing of index funds, when ARWR lost its position in the Russel 3000, seams to be over, but it remains to be seem if this has any longer term effects. Being in or out of that index, of course, has no direct correlation with the science, so I expect ARWR may be just one news story away from regaining the market cap for inclusion in that index once again. How often do they rebalance?
Hence, positive news or data about SQ progress (or any other developments ) may force those same index funds back in to ARWR at the next rebalancing, and a sell off in the markets could easily do the Same (if ARWRs relative MC were to improve sine it is obviously on the edge of the list near qualifing).
Does it matter if ARAR's MC is #3000, or #3005? I don't see Fridays drop as affecting ARWR long term prospects, since SQ development is the key, not index holdings, but it adds to the short term disappointment. Some will, as usual, blame ARWR management for this the fund rebalancing. Lol.
