I was not speaking of an isolated instance.
Nor is FDA a monopoly in any capitalistic sense.
Regulation may be a pain at times but it guards the common folk (all of us) from those that would take shortcuts for profit. That is not being nannied; that is simply upholding standards we have come to accept as given in the first world.
You want to buy a house built without any observance of code standard? You want to climb on an airplane without regular safety and maintenance checks? You want to buy medications made without GMP stricture? Or perhaps remove those pesky requirements that make stockyards hold monies in escroll to guarantee the checks they give farmers don't bounce. (believe me, that little item didn't come in advance of the need being demonstrated)
Am I just a thumb-sucking baby for enjoying those standards?
