My first post on the subject was # 55987 in 2012 with more than 50 posts on the subject over the following eight years.
My last paragraph in that post: "I have been a Regional Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, and VP of
Sales at various high dollar-capital equipment vendors, including
Schlumberger, that utilized (and managed) both Rep./Dist. and Direct
sales forces, depending on the newness of our product/market/presence.
Believe me, Distributors and Reps. are an easy painless way to go for a
capital equipment vendor, but you DO NOT make profit until you
go-direct."
