They are the same. The rhetoric just changed. In the late 1800s up until the end of the civil war, they had slaves. Then they put in rules to make it difficult for blacks to vote. Then the democrats invented the KKK. Then a in the 1930s, they became 'progressive' and believed that based on the head shape of blacks, they were inferior and needed 'help'. But they could not tell them they were inferior or that would ruin the work. The democrat progressives also generally agreed with most of Hitler's propaganda until WWII began for the USA. Later, when there were voting rights bills in the US Federal government in the 1960s, Republicans essentially voted unanimously for them. Most democrats still opposed it. 

 

The outright old-time racists gradually died out in the democrat party replaced by the new racists who felt that we can't tell the blacks they are inferior but we must help them. You had Hillary's mentor Robert Byrd (one of the longest serving democrat) was the last member of the democrat party in congress who had been a high ranking KKK member.

 

The democrats moved to the current generation where now they teach hatred and racism against White people, 'woke'ism, the idea that free speech is great but that anything a white person says that they don't like is hate speech that should be banned and they attempt and still attempt to ban it in places like Facebook and Twitter. 

 

Basically, the Democrats have changed their spots a bit but are the same oh same racist/bigoted group that thinks that they are not racists and bigots. They have always thought that they were progressive forward thinking reasonable people and have always justified their racism. I.e, they now justify in their minds making businesses hire minorities but not white people. They justify trying to force such things as teaching anti-white propaganda and anti-white critical race theory. If you listen to their justifications, they all sound somewhat reasonable - but of course in detail are idiotic, bad for the country and racist/bigoted. But that is dems for you (and leftists in Canada to).

 

Republicans just think everyone should be treated the same. They believe in peaceful society with small government, strong local police to keep crime down and a strong military to prevent foreigners from interfering with s. Republicans believe people don't need special rights for any race group and Republicans think that the government should be smaller so that they can basically be kept out of people's lives so people remain free and not controlled by government. After all, the tyranny of government is far worse than the tyranny of misc., individuals. This is historically the exact same stance that the Republicans have had since the party formed in the 1850s. Republicans have never been racist.
