You are fixing to embark on a mission to vaccinate most of the world's healthy population. Taking 3 or 4 weeks to review the data is not excessive and is prudent. If it turns out this vaccine is released on the world's healthy population and something terrible happens you will set back vaccination rates for a decade.
The truth is no matter how carefully they run these 3 phase trials, often it is not until the medicine is released that they find out how truly dangerous the side effects are.
I am a big proponent of vaccinations and I intend to take the vaccine as soon as it is available. I think it is a shame that so many people will have to die while we wait for approval and I think that the vaccine can hardly be worse than the virus. But this is what I think, in medicine all that matters is what you can prove and what has been tested not what we believe is in the best interest of the public.
