Borrow rate on shorts keeps creeping up. Now 37.5% at Fidelity. EOM | CYDY Message Board Posts
  • Membership Drive Update: In the first 48 hours we've hit almost 20% of our goal. An encouraging start to be sure, but we can't stop now. We need to pull enough subscription revenue forward to counter severe cash flow deficits resulting from a dramatic slow-down in ad spend thanks to the global pandemic which shows no signs of letting up in the near-term. We're doing everything in our power to keep our heads above some very choppy water, but we can't do it alone. We need your help. So if you've ever thought about giving our premium service a try, there's no better time to do it than right now by taking advantage of one of our discounted multi-year plans. Thanks in advance for your continued loyalty & support!

“If you don't mind saying, how many shares do you have on deposit with them?“

I have 24,000 shares, all on loan. I receive 19.5% on the EOD price of the PPS. It’s a great way to have some income while waiting for the drama to unfold.

With Fidelity, you have to sign a form indicating that you are basically sane and are willing to collect great income by simply agreeing to lend shares. The shares cannot be held on margin (in a cash position), which at Fidelity can be done even if you have a “margin” account. I do not mess with margin, but lend shares unless I want to write covered calls on the shares.

A call to you brokerage firm might clear up the reason why your account is not being tapped for loaned shares.
