Re: Somewhat OT: TransAtlantic Petroleum hires advisor to market the company
"Hi 4B, the similarities are self-evident, but they differ greatly in degree. I see TAP has 3.5B$ in debt, Russia is next to to both Turkey and Bulgaria and internally, both T&B are growing dictatorships. Egypt has a problem in the empty Sinai with Islamic extremists but they lack support from the main population and are too weak to overthrow the government."
Wriskit, the stock symbol is TAT, the debt is (luckily) only $50MM. Market cap is $60MM. For this $60MM, you get $19MM in operational cashflow (rolling 4 quarters) and $16MM in G&A expenses (which you could cut in a merger).
I agree, it is a bad neigborhood they are in, but that is why the stock is cheap.
