Re: BlueBird Bio, Inc., Former High-Flyer, has Crashed to Earth
I don't follow BLUE and I don't pay any attention to reported institutional ownership in biotech, most of which is probably index, sector, or passive funds and the reporting is always at least 90 days dated
and you don't remember me from ARNA... I don't think I ever posted there
but maybe it was DNDN, another roller coaster cult stock... it went from $3 to $50 after its prostate cancer drug was approved in 2010 and the true longs mantra was "The Next Amgen"... I was an active uber bull but I bailed when the CEO decided to jettison any M&A consideration and instead go-it-alone with a plan to become a fully integrated biotech because they had done all the "heavy lifting" to get FDA approval, they had a robust pipeline of blockbuster follow-on indications, and they had assembled a "world class" commercial team... but at the same time, the CEO sold ~50% of his holdings as I cautioned to "watch what he does, not what he says"... long story short, I unabashedly continued to digitally share my concerns and caveats that DNDN's strategy and business model was seriously flawed as DNDN went from the next AMGN to an eventual BK filing... meanwhile the "true longs" never lost faith and I went from one of the most popular posters to the most hated.
