Re: PFE has Hemo A trial results for another product???

So my take on this news relative to GT programs is that Pfizer is doing a good job covering all the bases in alternative therapies to factor replacement. Sangamo just has to wait on the data and see how it stacks up against Roctavian and the antibody programs. The big issue in Hemo A GT is durability and how much and how fast efficacy drops off. If GirFit results are competitive with Roctavian, I suspect Pfizer will get approval and launch GirFit and hemo patients will in large part shop solely with Pfizer. Take it one step further, Pfizer might want to buy out Sangamo's interest in both GirFit and ST-920 for Fabry. I sure hope something like that happens soon for SGMO shareholders and employees.

"Data released Tuesday show Pfizer has a shot at seizing the opportunity. The results come from a phase 3 trial that tested Pfizer’s anti-TFPI antibody marstacimab in 116 patients with hemophilia A or B. Subjects, who didn’t have inhibitors to factor VIII or factor IX, received standard of care for six months and then switched to marstacimab for 12 months.

Among patients who received on-demand factor replacement intravenous therapy in the lead-in period, switching to Pfizer’s investigational antibody reduced bleeds by 92%. Pfizer also showed the superiority of marstacimab compared to prophylaxis, with a 35% reduction in the annualized bleeding rate.

So Rather than replacing clotting factors, the molecules try to reestablish a balance between bleeding and blood clot formation by acting on mechanisms that inhibit the initiation of blood clotting."
