PFE hires Hemophilia Specialty Manager (HSM Representative), Rare Disease

The focus of Hemophilia Specialty Manager (HSM) is to increase the knowledge and influence the choice of Pfizer Hemophilia products. This is accomplished through influencing, educating and selling the value to Hemophilia Treatment Center staff (physicians, nurses, social workers, and others) and Hospitals/Key Accounts by having Pfizer products positioned favorably on formulary. HSM’s will sell the value of Pfizer and Pfizer products, support services and programs to physicians, pharmacy directors, fellows, Specialty Pharmacy and Home Health Care HCPs.

Job Focus:
  • The core of this role is sales/account management and education
  • Develops and/ or modifies business plans for assigned accounts.
  • Sells effectively by planning for and conducting sales calls that are engaging, focused on customer needs, highlight benefits, and enhance commitment to Pfizer products.
  • Sells directly to Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC’s) physicians and nurses on the science of the product to increase prescription volume.
  • Educates Specialty Pharmacy & home healthcare companies’ pharmacists, and nurses
  • Develops relationships with a wide variety of customers including nationally known physicians, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists. This requires a high degree of ability to adapt relationship style and personal approach to suit the audience.
  • Balances the implementation of marketing programs with the achievement of sales goals.
  • Educates key hospital personnel (including pharmacy directors, physicians, P&T committee members and fellows) to ensure Pfizer products become the backbone of commonly prescribed drugs per therapeutic category.
  • Delivers individual and group presentations that are heavily data and science driven.
  • Understands Payer and federal government contracting processes.
  • Maintains almost daily contact with a wide range on internal HealthCare Systems stakeholders in order to maintain and grow the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with Pfizer internal stakeholders to meet needs of the territory.
  • Strategic Business Planning by MSA in large geography
  • BA/BS Degree required. MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred with at least three years spent in specialty sales, a promoted position and/or developmental role with demonstrated leadership across peer groups.
  • Experience working with key thought leaders or high influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations preferred.
  • This position will require the ability to manage a large geography with overnight travel.
  • Territory covers all accounts in Buffalo Territory boundaries.
  • Must live in territory geography.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are also required and ability to analyze and draw appropriate conclusions using sales data/call reporting software/applications.
  • Consistently and compliantly follows and supports company policies
  • Must have effective interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, and the ability to advance and influence the acceptance of ideas.
