Re: Is SGMO in harm's way?
“Large quake” is relative. The quake near Livermore on Tuesday was felt as far away as 15 miles north of Santa Cruz (i.e. I felt it) But it was not what many would say is large. It’s a log scale. In CA when you start pushing 7, that’s large.
Sangamo is a new building built in a bad area for earthquakes. The ground in that area is subject to liquefaction being largely silt from the geologic evolution of the SF Bay. Still, building codes in CA are stringent these days and most large buildings will do just fine in a 7 although a lot of glassware will need to be replaced. If we get the big 8 then all bets are off but no company operating in the Bay Area will be spared.
I’d say SB-525 durability is a far bigger concern than quake damage by at least an order of magnitude or two.
