STAT: "This marks only the fifth time the WHO has declared a public health emergency of international concern. The previous PHEICs were the 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic, the 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa, and the Zika outbreak in Latin America in 2016. Setbacks in the polio eradication effort in 2014 led WHO to declare the spread of wild poliovirus a public health emergency; that PHEIC remains in place today."

Hopefully this will lead to renewed interest in NVAX's Ebola vaccine w/Matrix-M.
Meanwhile... H3N2 is a far greater threat than Ebola with hundreds of thousands of lives lost and no good vaccines. The H3N2 virus, which first popped up as a pandemic in 1968, has been a scourge on the earth and not only grows very poorly in eggs but also drifts at a greater rate than H1N1, that was responsible for the 2009, Swine flu pandemic. As deadly as recent H3N2 seasons have been, it can be far worse.
NanoFlu, highly effective against H3N2, including drifted strains, truly appears to be a game changer, with blockbuster potential like GSK's Shingrix.
