Re: Scripps: How (egg-based) flu shot manufacturing forces influenza to mutate...Thanks, Money. Here's the first article on the subject that got my attention... Study: Mutations during egg step cut last year's flu vaccine effectiveness Filed Under: Influenza Vaccines Robert Roos | News Editor | CIDRAP News | Mar 28, 2014 http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2014/03/study-mutations-during-egg-step-cut-last-years-flu-vaccine-effectiveness The CIDRAP article was based on this PLOS ONE study: Low 2012–13 Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Associated with Mutation in the Egg-Adapted H3N2 Vaccine Strain Not Antigenic Drift in Circulating Viruses http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0092153 It took years before this was discussed anywhere else and now the word is out... Not only is the word out but Dr. Wu and team have identified a key mutation, caused by egg-based manufacturing and put BP on notice that this mutation, which essentially renders the vaccine ineffective is in the current batch of vaccines. Again, the rest of the world will be getting these same ineffective vaccines that failed to protect Australia from a historic H3N2 flu season. Yes, perfect timing to unleash NanoFlu |
