- the US stops enabling Netanyahu; or
- the rest of the world, sickened by the slaughter, caves into Israel's objective of ethnic cleansing, agreeing to accept most Palestinians as refugees in their countries.
We are not close to either solution yet. In a US election year where PAC money is all important, I cannot see the first alternative as likely. The second is probably what will happen, but much more blood letting will be necessary first. An official death toll of between 50,000 and 100,000 (with the actual slaughter possibly double that) should do the trick.
By the way, recognise that Israel does not just have its sights set on ridding Gaza of Palestinians. Although the death toll in the West Bank and Jerusalem is lower, the pressure on Palestinians there is also intense, and set to worsen.
