Lots of people seem to be worrying about ChatGPT being truly sentient, that it will suddenly rise up and decide we are to be removed, Terminator / Matrix style.  IMO, the danger is more that we will continue to trust it and its ilk as though it were sentient, assuming it will make the "right" decisions, and shoot ourselves in the foot thusly.

 

Fran Blanche did a video recently where she pointed out they appear to be building WOPR.  That worries me perhaps more than the current maniac in charge of Russia's nuclear arsenal.
